Dr Jacqueline Tang
Consultant Obstetrician and Clinical Lead (MBChB FRCOG PgDip (US) FHEA)
Jackie is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at York NHS Teaching Hospitals with a special interest in fetal medicine. She is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Hull York Medical School. Jackie graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2007, completed her diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in 2011, and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2012. She later achieved a PG Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound with distinction. As clinical lead, Jackie trains our team and ensures the service remains at the highest standard.
Kate Sutcliffe
Advanced Obstetric Sonographer
Kate is an experienced obstetric sonographer who works at Yorkshire Baby Scan and York NHS Teaching Hospitals. She completed her degree in diagnostic radiography at the University of Exeter before gaining her Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from Sheffield Hallam University. Kate has worked in several hospitals and joined York NHS Teaching Hospitals in 2017. In 2020, she was awarded a Star Award from York Hospital after being nominated by her patients, a reflection of the exceptional care she provides.
Jake Wheater
Advanced Obstetric Sonographer
Jake is an accomplished sonographer with seven years of NHS experience and currently works as Ultrasound Manager at Harrogate NHS Foundation Trust. He gained his degree in diagnostic radiography from the University of Liverpool and later completed his master’s degree in medical ultrasound at the University of Leeds. Jake has developed a wide range of advanced clinical skills and works to a distinguished level within his field. His expertise and professionalism help ensure every patient receives the highest standard of care.
Tracey Butterfield
Lead Maternity Support Worker (MSW)
Tracey has worked in maternity care for nearly 25 years and brings extensive knowledge and compassion to her role. She achieved her Maternal Support Worker diploma in 2010 and, alongside her position at Yorkshire Baby Scan, works in the maternity and fetal department at York NHS Teaching Hospitals. As our lead MSW, Tracey combines her caring approach with decades of experience to support both patients and staff, ensuring a positive and reassuring experience for every visit.
Ellie Garrard
Sports Massage Therapist providing Pregnancy Massage
Ellie is a qualified sports massage therapist with Level 3 and Level 4 certifications. She comes from a sporting background that includes dance, netball, and other disciplines. Alongside running her sports massage clinic at YSM, Ellie is expanding her expertise through further training, including dry needling and pregnancy massage therapy. She works with a broad range of clients, helping to reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, and support overall wellbeing.

“We enjoyed our time at Yorkshire Baby Scan today and would definitely recommend it to family and friends. The experience felt really personal and the clinic had a calm atmosphere; it was a lovely setting in which to meet our baby. The sonographers gave us loads of time – they explained things in detail and answered all our questions. We didn’t feel rushed at all. The location of the clinic was really good as well. There was free parking and it was really easy to get to.”
